The Ministry of Education;Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the India Rankings 12th August 2024, the ninth annual evaluation of higher education institutions based on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)
In 2016 it all started with 3,565 participating institutions and which has now expanded to 10,845 institutions in 2024, across 16 categories and subject domains. The NIRF has continued to focus on improving data collection and comparison methods, ensuring that the rankings of agriculture top leaders accurately and reflecting the status of Indian education institutions.

Top Agricultural Universities in India (NIRF Ranking 2024)
Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi bagged first rank in NIRF by 87.98 scores followed by National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal 71.18 scores Punjab Agricultural University, Punjab 69.63 score, Banaras Hindu University 68.32 and Indian Veterinary Research Institute by 67.76 scores.
